Test system

Riteblue, our in-house production test system, plus our own test firmware and equipment: quality standards gigawit sets and enforces itself.

Manufacturing consistency matters as much as design. A product is only as good as the unit a customer actually receives, so we built our own production test system, write our own test firmware, and back both with our own test equipment. The quality bar is set by gigawit and enforced by gigawit, not left to the defaults of a line.

Riteblue production test system

Riteblue combines a test fixture, a barcode scanner and PC software into a single station on the production line. Each station covers:

  • Firmware flashing, with anti-piracy protection, controllable authorization counts and full traceability
  • Frequency calibration
  • Power testing
  • Module I/O testing
  • Bluetooth address writing

Scanning each unit’s barcode ties its test results and firmware to that unit, so any device can be traced back through production.

Test firmware and line tools

The test firmware and the line tools are written by the same engineers who write the product firmware. Tests are designed together with the production process, so they check what the product actually does and fit into the line’s flow without slowing it down.

Our own test equipment

Alongside the production line, we maintain a range of professional test equipment that supports R&D, and we bring our own equipment onto the line to run with our test firmware.

One standard from R&D to mass production

The criteria used to validate a design in R&D are the same ones applied on the production line. A sample that passed in the lab and a unit off the line are measured against the same bar. See how this fits into incoming, in-process and outgoing inspection on our ODM page.

What it means for the listener

Every unit performs like the sample the brand approved: same connection quality, same sound, same firmware.
